The 40-year-old James isn't the only Lakers starter dealing with an injury. According to Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times, Austin Reaves is still recovering from a serious toe injury.
The trade, finalized on February 2, 2025, involved a three-team deal with the Utah Jazz. The Lakers acquired Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Markieff Morris, while the Mavericks received Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first-round pick.
This will be easier said than done, but the Lakers' brand does tend to attract big-time stars to the team. Former Lakers star Magic Johnson knows this all too well and has made a pitch for a former league MVP to come to Los Angeles. Johnson made his wishes known on social media for star Kevin Durant to come to the Lakers.
