Police Scotland has confirmed the death of a 74-year-old man who was struck by a single-decker bus on Cowgate in Edinburgh, on Saturday evening (2nd November). An eyewitness told The Edinburgh Tab that a head had been found “decapitated” on the ground of the city’s party district.

Edinburgh has been rocked by unverified reports of a ‘severed head’ having been found in Cowgate after a horror bus crash which killed a 74-year-old man.

Police have been dispatched to Edinburgh's Cowgate area following an incident where a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle, amidst circulating reports of a "severed head" discovered on the street. The capital's officers reported to the scene of a critical road collision at 7.

A man has reportedly been found “decapitated” on the streets of Cowgate, following eyewitness accounts from an Edinburgh University student. Officers were called to the scene at around 7:30pm on Saturday the 2nd of November.

Edinburgh's transport convener has said the council is dedicated to making improvements at the Cowgate amid safety concerns after a man was hit by a bus and killed.
