McDonald's will close all five of its CosMc's test locations this summer, 18 months after introducing the beverage-focused concept at four restaurants in Texas and one in a Chicago suburb.

McDonald’s said Friday that it’s closing down CosMc’s, a new restaurant format it began piloting in the U.S. last year.

The company has announced it will close all CosMc's locations in the coming weeks. In recent years, there has been an increased demand for more beverage choices, including coffee, tea and juices. Longtime chains like Starbucks and Dunkin' rolled out new concoctions while newcomers such as Dutch Bros. and Scooter's entered the market.
