The investigation into Air India flight 171 crash opens up questions into the many concerns surrounding Boeing's 787.

A tragic Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad resulted in 241 fatalities. Aviation expert Alok Singh suggests potential causes including engine failure, bird strike, pilot error, or technical malfunction.

The crash happened just weeks after the company cut a deal with the U.S. government to avoid taking criminal responsibility for a pair of deadly crashes in 2018 and 2019.

Air India said it has completed such safety checks on nine of its Boeing 787 aircraft and is in process to complete it for the remaining 24 planes.

The Turkish government has denied reports claiming that Turkish Technic carried out maintenance on the Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner that crashed after take-off from Ahmedabad. The clarification follows online speculation about possible technical lapses.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner was the first truly 21st-century big jet. More than 1,000 are in service, and many passengers rate it more highly than other aircraft.The carbon-fibre twin-engined 787 was designed partly as a replacement for Boeing’s veteran 767 – but also to introduce passenger-friendly benefits such as larger windows and higher cabin pressure.

The head of Air France-KLM voiced confidence in the Boeing 787 Dreamliner as he expressed condolences to Air India and those affected by the deadly crash of a London-bound passenger jet in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
