Bill Murray has reminisced on working with Gene Hackman following the shocking news of the actor’s death. The American movie star, 95, was discovered dead along with his wife, Betsy Arakawa, 65, and a pet dog earlier this week.

He admitted that the late actor was "a little irritable" during filming but ultimately came around to director Wes Anderson and the movie.

Murray remembered wincing as he witnessed the scene, thinking to himself, "Oh, God. ... No wonder this guy wants to throttle people."

Following yesterday’s tragic loss of the great Gene Hackman, many who knew him (and even more who simply respected his work) have spoken out about the accomplished star. The actors were cast alongside Ben Stiller, Gwyneth Paltrow, Danny Glover, Luke Wilson, Anjelica Huston and Alec Baldwin in this 2001 Wes Anderson dramedy.
