Oscar Piastri cruised to his sixth victory of the 2025 Formula One season in the Belgian Grand Prix at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday.

The McLaren teammates finished 1-2 for the sixth time in 2025 as Piastri extended his championship lead over Norris in Belgium on Sunday.

Lando Norris won his home race last time out at the British Grand Prix, capitalising on teammate Oscar Piastri ’s penalty to claim his second victory in a row. Piastri’s lead in the world championship is now just eight points at the halfway stage of the season.

The most famous example of this in 2024 came during Daniel Ricciardo 's final F1 race, when the Australian finished last but claimed the fastest lap on the final lap of the Singapore GP, taking the extra point away from Lando Norris and helping Max Verstappen's title bid.

The Belgian Grand Prix is under serious threat of cancellation after heavy rain lashed Spa-Francorchamps, leading to a cancellation of the F3 round.
