WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Diamondbacks made a series of roster moves ahead of their series opener against the Athletics, some of which were additions filling holes created by trade deadline departures. Joining the club were first baseman Tyler Locklear, infielder Connor Kaiser, left-hander Kyle Nelson and lefty Jalen Beeks.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have traded Merrill Kelly to the Texas Rangers. 36-year-old right-hander has been with Arizona since he came to Major League Baseball back in 2019. This season, he is 9-6, with a 3.22 earned run average. In his career, he holds a 62-50 record. He sits with a 3.74 career ERA as well.
