Is Apple considering the unthinkable? A new report claims that the base model of iPhone 18 won't be released next fall.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Air, along with new Apple Watches, just a few weeks from now.

Along with the iPhone 17 lineup, Apple is expected to announce updates to the Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, and HomePod.

Apple is set to overhaul its iPhone launch cycle for the first time in years. As part of the reshuffle, it may not launch iPhone 18 next year, according to reports.

The most widely discussed rumor is that Apple might be introducing its slimmest phone ever, the iPhone Air, which may replace the iPhone Plus. This rumored device is said to have a profile thickness of 5.5 mm, making it about 0.08 inches thinner than current iPhones. It’ll also feature a 6.6-inch screen.

The standard iPhone 17 could see some welcome display upgrades. At least one supply chain source claimed it will add a 120Hz variable refresh rate (ProMotion) display, which the Pro series has used since 2021.

Tech media outlets seem to agree on Sept. 9 for the 2025 reveal date. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models are available in five bold colors: black, white, pink, teal and ultramarine. The iPhone 17 series could be coming in early September.
