A Liberal MP from London, Ont., is joining several of his caucus colleagues in publicly calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resign as leader of the party — and he says the number of Liberals who want Trudeau to step down will likely get even bigger.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has lost the confidence of another prominent Liberal MP. Parliamentary Secretary for Housing, Infrastructure and Communities and London North Centre MP Peter Fragiskatos told CTV News, “I'm being more direct in my call today for the Prime Minister to resign.”

The prime minister paid his respects to a late former U.S. president and later attended a committee meeting focused on the tariff threat from the incoming U.S. president, but Justin Trudeau’s return to Ottawa only re-ignited calls for him to resign.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took part in a virtual meeting of the Canada-U.S. relations cabinet committee on Friday, as people inside and outside the Liberal caucus call for him to resign as leader.
