Are Disney, Universal and other Florida theme parks closing for Hurricane Milton?
The Universal Orlando Resort is closing some theme parks as Hurricane Milton nears landfall. Volcanco Bay will be closed on Oct. 9 and Oct. 10, the company said on Tuesday. Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Florida is also canceled both of those days.
Milton shuts down Orlando’s first big theme park: SeaWorld closing through Thursday
SeaWorld Orlando and its two Orlando water parks are shutting down Wednesday and Thursday. Those are the first of Orlando’s major theme parks to close as the region faces the threat of potentially 110 mph winds from Hurricane Milton. SeaWorld employees are bunkering down to keep the park’s orcas, manatees, birds and other animals safe.
SeaWorld runs two Sesame Place theme parks, one in California and another in Pennsylvania. And, as mentioned that also includes the presence of Sesame Street characters in other SeaWorld parks.
The latest forecast calls for the Category 5 storm to cut a path over the major theme parks in central Florida.
