The DOJ filed a new lawsuit against New York City, accusing it's leaders of blocking immigration enforcement with sanctuary city policies.

The Justice Department (DOJ) sued New York City over its sanctuary policies on Thursday, alleging that they impede federal immigration enforcement and violate the Supremacy Clause. New York City law prohibits the use of city resources for immigration enforcement and bans city officials from sharing information with federal immigration authorities.

The U.S. Department of Justice is suing New York City and Mayor Eric Adams over its sanctuary city policies, according to Attorney General Pam Bondi. In a post on social media Thursday afternoon, Bondi said Adams and the city are “continuing to obstruct law enforcement” with the sanctuary city laws in place.
