The Preds began their preseason slate with a pair of victories over the Panthers with 5-0 and 5-3 final scores just 48 hours earlier. Those two results saw Nashville dress just about every single one of their top players over the course of two games, and while the efforts weren’t perfect, there was still plenty to like on the day.

The Denver Broncos are scheduled to kick off vs. the Cincinnati Bengals at 6:15 p.m. MDT at Empower Field at Mile High. The second game in a Monday Night Football double-header could be in danger of weather delays, however.

The Carolina Hurricanes continue their preseason and visit the Tampa Bay Lightning for a game on Friday night. Once again, they will present a very prospect laden roster. They have Quapp and Miftakhov in net.

The preseason schedule continues tonight in Tampa as the Nashville Predators travel to the newly-named Benchmark International Arena to take on the Lightning at 6 p.m. CT. This evening’s contest is the second and final meeting between the two clubs this preseason; the Bolts came back to beat the Preds in a shootout last Tuesday in Nashville.

Hedman didn't play after the first period Friday, but the initial report from head coach Jon Cooper suggests the defenseman should be fine. It's unclear if Hedman will play Saturday versus the Predators, but don't expect the Lightning to rush him back for preseason action.
