The painting is on exhibit at the art gallery featuring different images of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Santa Fe resident Jose Villegas called the work “blasphemous” and demanded that it be removed.

The "Portrait of a Lady" painting, valued at $66 million, vanished from the city's Ricci Oddi Modern Art Gallery, during renovation work in February 1997.
