Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is taking part in a virtual meeting of the Canada-U.S. relations cabinet committee, as people inside and outside the Liberal caucus call for him to resign as leader.

A Liberal MP from London, Ont., is joining several of his caucus colleagues in publicly calling on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to resign as leader of the party — and he says the number of Liberals who want Trudeau to step down will likely get even bigger.

A special meeting of the national Liberal caucus has been called for Wednesday, as pressure mounts on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to say whether he plans to step down. National Liberal caucus chair Brenda Shanahan notified MPs of the special meeting late Friday.
