Late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert joked around with former FBI Director James Comey regarding his controversial 8647 Instagram post. Comey came under fire for photographing and posting the number 8647 written in shells on the beach.

Federal officials said they were looking into a now-deleted social media post by Comey last week, where he posted a photo of seashells that spelled out “86 47″. Many MAGA loyalists and Trump himself accused Comey of calling for his assassination with that post.

James Comey, former FBI director, emphasized that the "8647" post was "totally innocent" and not intended as a threat.
