As the James Bond franchise undergoes a major shake-up, word on the street is that the next leading 007 character could finally be a woman. It was recently confirmed that Amazon MGM Studios would be taking over Bond after the Broccoli family ceased creative control.

The James Bond franchise could be expanded with a female 007 spin-off, after streaming giant Amazon previously pitched the idea to producers. Other proposals included spin-offs centred around Bond’s CIA ally Felix Leiter and a prequel focusing on MI6 secretary Miss Moneypenny.
