The House of Representatives voted to allow states to enact daylight saving time year-round. Here's what it would mean if it became permanent.
The Sunshine Protection Act would allow states to opt in to permanent DST, a change that would push more daylight hours into the afternoon and away from the morning. Currently, clocks move ahead one hour on the second Sunday in March and back an hour to standard time the first Sunday in November.
