Thailand and Cambodia's leaders agreed to an "unconditional" ceasefire Monday, after five days of combat along their jungle-clad frontier that has killed at least 36 people.

Thailand has rejected mediation efforts from a third country to end the ongoing conflict with Cambodia, insisting that Phnom Penh cease attacks and resolve the dispute solely through bilateral talks, the Thai Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

Thailand has one of the best-equipped and trained air forces in Southeast Asia, with an estimated 46,000 personnel, 112 combat-capable aircraft, including 28 F-16s and 11 Swedish Gripen fighter jets, and dozens of helicopters.
