Respondents backed Proposition 139 by more than 25 percentage points, 57.6% to 32.2%, the statewide poll of 500 likely voters found.

This November, Arizonans will have the opportunity to vote on whether to enact a state constitutional amendment that would create a fundamental right to abortion. Activists in favor of the amendment claim that “voters clamored to sign” a petition to put the amendment on the ballot.

Asked why supporters would not participate, an Arizona for Abortion Access spokesperson cited other campaign work and support for the amendment.
