AMD stock rose Tuesday after Meta Platforms reached a deal with Advanced Micro Devices to buy 6 gigawatts’ worth of AI processors.

Meta is buying billions of dollars in AMD AI chips in a multiyear deal tied to a 160 million-share warrant, deepening its push to diversify beyond Nvidia and expand data center capacity.

The deal would also give Meta a warrant to acquire up to 10% of AMD’s shares as the Facebook parent company purchases computing power.
