DALLAS — A body was recovered on New Year's Eve from White Rock Lake, police said. According to the Dallas Police Department, crews found a body in the lake after responding to a call just before 3 p.m. Tuesday. WFAA chopper footage showed several rescue crews responding to the scene.

A man was hospitalized in Rockford overnight after a shooting, according to police. Prior to 6:45 a.m., authorities said shots rang out in the 600 block of Rome Avenue, near Rural Street. Police said the victim was taken to a local hospital and was expected to survive.
