The team behind Wallace and Gromit has picked up two gongs at the Baftas awards ceremony. The winning film, Vengeance Most Fowl, sees the return of evil penguin Feathers McGraw and was created at Bristol-based animation studios Aardman.

Wallace and Gromit finally won two Bafta Awards this weekend, and Feathers McGraw has given Aardman another unlikely achievement. Vengeance Most Fowl aired on Christmas Day and has proved the enduring popularity of the loveable clay characters, while sinister penguin Feathers continues to be one of cinemas most evil villains.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl won in two categories at the BAFTA Film Awards 2025 - for Animated Film, and Children's and Family Film.

Over the years, Feathers has popped up in other Aardman productions. In the 1995 Wallace and Gromit adventure “A Close Shave,” which also won the Academy Award, when Gromit gets sent to prison, there’s graffiti in his cell that reads “Feathers was ‘ere.” And the character can be seen, for a single frame, in a scene later on in the short.

One of the most involved scenes in the Netflix film takes place at the end, where Gromit pursues Feathers through an aqueduct on a “high-speed” boat chase. This scene was one of the more collaborative in the film, requiring every department to lend a hand.
