Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres has said his new goal celebration “might” have been a response to his critics. Gyokeres, the big summer signing from Sporting CP, got off the mark for his new club with a brace as Arsenal thumped Leeds 5-0 on Saturday.

Gyokeres was signed for £63.7million to solve Arsenal's forward problems, having spent large periods of the second half of last season having to use Mikel Merino as a makeshift striker. Now, if Arsenal do not sign another frontman, there will be huge pressure on the new signing's shoulders to deliver.
