The South Pasadena Police Department become the first in the US to switch to an all electric police vehicle fleet with 20 Tesla cop cars.

The new fleet consists of 20 Tesla Model Y “pursuit “and Model 3 administrative vehicles. Model Y’s are the larger SUVs, and the Model 3 is a sedan. They will rely on a bank of new electric

The city will pay $1.85 million for the project overall, officials said. Over half of the project's cost are covered by multiple partners that have committed to build city-managed chargers and emergency contingencies.
