After a series of snowstorms barreled across the Plains and Great Lakes regions, millions across the Northeast are under winter weather advisories.

Ski season is here, but while the eastern half of the U.S. digs out from winter storms, the western U.S. snow season has been off to a very slow start.

The Colorado Department of Transportation is warning drivers that one of the “most far-reaching snow storms of the season thus far” could impact roadway conditions, including on the I-70 mountain corridor,

A major snowstorm in the Midwest and Great Lakes brought winter to some Thanksgiving travelers, and forecasters said the northeast U.S. could get its own early winter storm next week.

“Cold air is moving in and with the fresh snow pack that is a recipe for really cold nights,” he said. Monday morning will be “chilly” with temperatures in the mid single-digits in the Metro and outside the Twin Cities, the mercury will drop to zero or slightly below zero, he said.

After the holiday weekend brought one of the latest first snows on record for metro Denver, winter storms are finally making their way to Colorado.

The National Weather Service states that a snowstorm is "any storm that produces snow," which can form "anytime, anywhere." A nor'easter is a little different.

Light snow showers started to mix with rain Sunday morning, but they'll transition to just a cold rain through the midday hours. A lull in the rain will carry us through the middle of this afternoon but another round of rain is possible closer to the Jersey Shore later this afternoon into this evening.
