Aston Villa beat Roma 4-0 at Walsall's Bescot Stadium to earn their second win of the pre-season campaign. Unai Emery's men were 3-0 up by half-time thanks to goals from Emi Buendia, Jacob Ramsey and Ollie Watkins before Donyell Malen added a fourth in the closing stages of the match.

Ollie Watkins made it 3-0 before the break, rising to meet a lofted ball into the box and directing his header neatly into the bottom-left corner. Donyell Malen's late right-footed effort gave Villa their fourth and final, continuing a stellar pre-season campaign for the Dutchman.

The midfielder scored a stunning free-kick after 15 minutes to open the scoring before Jacob Ramsey doubled Villa's lead two minutes later with a cool finish past Mile Svilar in the box
