Denmark has selected Magnus Von Horn’s The Girl With the Needle as its Oscar submission for the Best International Feature Film category.

Oscars Best International Feature Film category nears, around 50 countries have announced their entries. Any country with a selection committee that has been approved by the Academy are allowed to submit a single film for consideration in the category.

Magnus von Horn's period drama looks at the plight of pregnant women seeking a termination at a time when abortion was illegal and there were few other options.

Sweden: ‘The Last Journey’ “The Last Journey,” a documentary feature directed by Filip Hammar and Fredrik Wikingsson, has been chosen by Sweden to represent the country in the International Feature Film race.
