NBA insider Ramona Shelburne predicts that Luka Dončić will sign a contract extension and spend the next decade with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Luka Doncic trade remains an unbelievable calamity. The Dallas Mavericks gave up on a franchise superstar at 25 years old, despite just coming off a run to the NBA Finals, and gave him to the Los Angeles Lakers basically for free.

Luka Dončić's efforts to help sell prospective targets on the Los Angeles Lakers has eased some of the fears about the five-time All-Star's future in Southern California, according to NBA insider Marc Stein.

Needless to say, neither of these offseason news items went over well with a large portion of the Boston faithful.

James, who will turn 41 in December, is rumored to want out of the Lakers after Paul released a statement regarding the 21-time All-Star accepting his $52.6 million player option.

In fact, "there were whispers in league circles about LeBron James having eyes for Dallas," Hollinger reports. But the four-time NBA MVP was not willing to pass on $52.6 million with the Lakers for a non-taxpayer mid-level exception to sign.

The Lakers remain the heavy favorites to retain James, but the DraftKings odds on LeBron staying in L.A. have changed significantly over the last few weeks.
