NEW YORK (WABC) -- Tuesday night's Mega Millions jackpot is now worth a whopping $600 million. The estimated cash value for the drawing on October 14 is $277.2 million. Your odds for winning are slightly better than in the past after tickets for the multistate lotter jumped in price to $5 several months ago.
Sixteen players in New Jersey won $10,000 or more last week playing Powerball, Mega Millions and New Jersey Lottery games.

Mega Millions grand prize surpasses $600 million
The Tuesday, Oct. 14, Mega Millions drawing will mark the 30th drawing since the jackpot was last won June 27, when one ticket purchased in Virginia won the $348 million jackpot. Now, the grand prize sits at $600 million with the total cash prize at $277.2 million.
A Bronx has recently become the latest New York Lottery millionaire after matching the first five numbers in a 2024 Mega Millions drawing. His ticket earned the game’s $1 million second-tier prize, and he only recently stepped forward to claim his winnings.
Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million. The odds of matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball for a prize of at least $10,000 are 931,001 to 1.
