Automaker Kia America is recalling more than 80,000 vehicles due to floor wiring beneath the front passenger seat that can become damaged and prevent airbags and seat belts from deploying properly.

The recall affects certain 2023–2025 Niros and pertains to under-seat wiring that can be damaged, disabling the front passenger-side airbag and seatbelt.

Kia is recalling 80,255 of its 2023-2025 Niro EV, Plug-in Hybrid, and Hybrid vehicles because the air bags and seat belts may not work properly.
