Firefighters have evacuated at least 105 homes in Hawaii's Maui County following a fast-moving brush fire fueled by strong winds.

An emergency evacuation order has been issued near Kahikinui due to an active brush fire, estimated to be up to 20 acres big, on Sunday morning.

KAHIKINUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Maui Fire Department is battling a brush fire in Kahikinui. The Maui Emergency Management Agency sent out an alert about the fire shortly after 10 a.m. Sunday. Officials said that first responders are on scene between mile markers 24 and 25, and asked the public to avoid the area.

A fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon damaged a building and nearby church and displaced two people in Waiehu, according to the Maui Fire Department.
