At First Baptist Church of Mt. Dora in Lake county, WESH 2 News saw elections worker delivering voting equipment to one of the hundreds of precinct locations that will open Tuesday in six local counties, for the Congressional special election in District six.

The other race is the Florida’s 1st Congressional District in the Panhandle, a reliably Republican region that hasn’t elected a Democrat since 1995. Jimmy Patronis, Florida’s Chief Financial Officer and former state Representative, is competing against Democrat Gay Valimont, who lost a race for the same seat in November by 32 percentage points.

Early voting for the special election in Florida's 6th Congressional District has ended, with more Republican ballots cast but it's far from decided.
