Former Iowa Hawkeyes' star defensive back Cooper DeJean was a hero for the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, but that moment almost didn't happen.

One of the greatest plays in Iowa Hawkeyes football history lingers with an asterisk next to it as it was ultimately never actually a play, but a questionable call at best by referees that turned into an ensuing debacle.

Before and after Sunday's game, DeJean honored his Iowa roots by paying tribute to the Iowa football program at OABCIG High School.
