Giant Eagle pharmacies in western Pennsylvania and four other states have joined the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs retailer network, a company co-founded in 2022 by the businessman and Mount Lebanon native to make prescription drugs more affordable to American consumers.

Billionaire Mark Cuban was back in the Pittsburgh area on Wednesday afternoon, as he announced a new partnership with Giant Eagle to crack down on the price of prescription drugs.

They negotiate drug prices directly with manufacturers and are transparent with the costs involved in providing medications, avoiding large mark-ups.
