The statewide minimum wage jumps 50 cents on January 1 to $16.50 while some cities will increase their minimum wages to a higher amount.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2025, all minimum wage employees in California - excluding fast food employers and certain healthcare facilities - will see a 50-cent pay increase - from $16 to $16.50 an hour, according to the Labor Commissioner’s Office.

Starting Jan. 1, 2025, employees of companies in California will receive a raise if they earn the minimum wage.
