Austin Slater and Cedric Mullins collided reaching for it, allowing Bailey to score to tie the game. Mullins was slow to get up but stayed in the game.

Anthony Santander hit a game-winning home run — his 42nd of the season — and the Baltimore Orioles edged closer to the postseason with a 5-3 victory over the San Francisco Giants on Thursday afternoon.

For a moment, all was forgotten. It didn’t matter that the Orioles had recently lost nine of their past 12 games as the postseason approached, or that their closer had blown a save or that their center fielder had just been shaken up after a scary collision.
