Environment Canada's air quality index has reported moderate to high risk since Saturday morning in Calgary, as many parts of the country struggle with the effects of wildfire smoke.

Smoke from Canadian wildfires is engulfing much of the eastern and central United States and and is expected to continue for days.

Monday will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Winds will continue to be gusty from the northwest reaching 30 mph at times. Due to the northwest winds at the surface and aloft, wildfire smoke may return to the metro. This could affect air quality and create hazy skies on Monday.
