SZA shouted out Kai Cenat, Kendrick Lamar almost left empty-handed, and Janet Jackson returned to the stage during the star-packed awards show.

American Music Awards had no shortage of star power – or high energy. With Jennifer Lopez hosting, and with Kendrick Lamar leading all nominees, the stage was set for a memorable show and this year’s AMAs brought the high-wattage performances.

May 26 (UPI) -- Becky G and SZA were big winners at the American Music Awards on Monday in Las Vegas. SZA won for Favorite R&B Song for "Saturn" and Favorite Female R&B Artist. Other nominations for the night included Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, Favorite Hip-Hop Song and Favorite R&B Album.
