It was a great homecoming game for Columbus Crew defender and California-native Max Arfsten, who provided two assists for the United States national team in its 5-0 opening win at the CONCACAF Gold Cup over Trinidad & Tobago.

Win or lose this summer, beat T&T 5-0 at the Gold Cup or lose to Turkey (2-1) and Switzerland (4-0) in friendlies. At the end of the day, they don't mean anything.

Arfsten will forever have a place in MLS lore as the first-ever MLS NEXT Pro player draft pick, and since joining Columbus, he has excelled as a wingback, making over 70 appearances across all competitions and evolving into a key rotational piece for the Crew.
