The U.S. Coast Guard has suspended its search for a teenager who went missing while swimming off Huntington Beach on Sunday night.

Huntington Beach residents gathered Tuesday for a vigil in honor of the teenager who went swimming in the ocean and failed to return earlier this week.

The divers stopped their search in the water around 10:40 p.m., but the search continued around the beach area and in the air. Crews went back out in the water Monday morning. The Coast Guard suspended its entire operation about 24 hours after the teen's disappearance.
