Universal Orlando’s third theme park, the first since the introduction of Islands of Adventure in 1999, is now officially open.

Universal Epic Universe could soon become the second biggest park in Florida, third largest in the U.S. and sixth largest in the world.

From Harry Potter to Super Mario Bros. to Frankenstein’s monster, Universal Orlando Resort is pulling out all the pop culture stops at its newest and largest theme park in Florida.

Theme park takes advantage of leaps in high-tech advances and presents 21st century interactive experiences to guests.

Universal Epic Universe and its five themed worlds span across 110 acres. The worlds include Celestial Park, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk and Super Nintendo World. The entire property itself is 750 acres, leaving room for future potential expansions.

After six years in development, Universal’s long-anticipated Epic Universe theme park officially opened its gates Thursday, marking the first major new park to launch in Orlando in more than two decades.
