Wonderful scenic, hiking in the mountains with several different loops possible. You get there by taking a chairlift up from the road and then hiking and therefore skip a lot of the climbing. This is…Full review by ericd726

It was a must to take the kids up there to see the beauty of Bulgaria while we were here for the summer holiday. The weather check is a must, so be prepared! Good shoes and clothes are must too. The …Full review by Desislava A

The views were magnificent. The route for me took five hours to see all seven lakes. However, it was worth visiting each of the lakes because each was a little different.Full review by lampa44
I understood that it is possible to get to the actual lake-side (not only see from afar) from the round route (5 lakes). Anyone can share any details about how and where exactly? הבנתי שאפשר להגיע ממש לשפת האגם מהמסלול המעגלי. מישהו יודע בדיוק איך ומהיכן? תודה

אני יכול להסביר לך את זה בדיוק If you are talking about the hike to the 7 Lakes, I can explain the details. We drove to the starting point which is accessed via Sapareva Banya (1 hr from Samokov where we stayed). From Sapareva Banya, we took a windy hilly road to the parking area from which we took a ski lift to the stop. On the map it says, “Pionerska” (1520m) and the top says Pilski Ezra (2135m). So, we started the hike from the top. Once you get to the top, the elevation gain and loss is very little. On our hike, we saw 5 of the lakes. Absolutely beautiful. Wanted to make sure we got back before the last ski lift closed. If I remember correctly, the ski lift does not operate every day. Check this out.
Hi, does anyone happen to know if the lift will work in first week of October? I've read mixed things, some people saying that it only works in tourist season in summer, some that it only works for skiing season in winter, the website however doesn't specify the months. Also I am very scared of heights and also love mountains (very unfortunate combination), while your hiking do you feel safe? Are there a lot of possibilities to fall and injure yourself? Sorry if the questions are awkward, still deciding if I will be able to do this hike but I would really love to.

Honestly I went there on July. Weather was excellent and everything was working properly as we were with a tour guide who gave us a lot of hints regarding our hiking trip. We covered both Pirin and Rila Mountains. Measures of safety are extremely high. Nothing to worry about. Just relax and enjoy the adventure!
