None of us upgraded to new phones, but our locations in the 'Find My' app have not been accurate - the general vicinity is accurate, but not as precise as it was before. Something changed and it is very frustrating!

When I open the app, his location only updates if he opens the app. All my other friends on the app who have iPhone 5s, their location updates in the background and I can see their location.

Under linked contacts section press the red - dot to remove the link. Go back to contacts and delete the non-iCloud duplicate contact.

It will place you within a quarter mile or so, not within 30 feet, and it won't refresh in real time. Good luck with your partner... some may feel there may be bigger issues in play here than ...
